Welcome To Superior Angels

Welcome to Superior Angels. We take pride in producing some of the finest and healthiest angelfish available. We spend many hours caring for our fish, and always maintain a clean and healthy environment in which they thrive. Through selective breeding, proper diet and regular water changes, we produce healthy and vigorous fish with excellent color, shape and finnage.

We first began breeding angels back in 1993. Like many, we got our start by accident when a breeding pair of angels formed in a community tank of tropical fish. We continued breeding angels for several years but on a small scale due to space constraints. After taking some time off from breeding and with more space available, we decided to build a hatchery whice is where we currently operate out of. It consists of approximately 2500 gallons, all of which is dedicated to raising superior angelfish.

Our foundation Angelfish stock was carefully selected from the country's top breeders. We use line breeding and outcrossing techniques to strengthen our bloodlines, enhance desireable traits and reduce genetic defects.

You can purchase our fish either by visiting our hatchery or by having us ship them to you. If you would like to visit the hatchery please contact us to make an appointment.

Varieties
We usually have several varieties of angelfish available to choose from at any given time. However, since we are always working to improve the quality of our angels and often experiementing with rare phenotypes, the varieties available will depend on current breeding projects. The best way to track availability is to vist the Currently Available and Coming Soon pages. On the coming soon page you can also subscribe to a notification list to receive emails when our inventory is updated.
Water
Our breeding pairs are kept in soft water with a conductivity of approximately 100 µS, neutral pH (7.0), and temperature of 82 degrees. This water is carefully prepared using a mix of reverse osmosis and filtered well water, and is always aged prior to water changes. Juvenile angels are raised in highly filtered well water that is slightly harder and more akaline. Before receiving angels from us please read our guide to acclimating new arrivals to ensure a safe transition to your water conditions.
